Just wanted to throw this out there for opinion. A friend & I were talking yesterday about this. We have Calls, Magpies & Sebbies here. I was able to get the Magpies to hatch in the GQF, but the Calls were another story. Had a few hatch under Silkies. But the real break through was when we got an old Leahy Favorite redwood. That seemed to be the trick! So much my hubby bought 3!!!! They are "old" but VERY reliable, easy to repair, you don't need a college degree to fix anything on them, and attractive as well!

So what does everyone else hatch in?

PS the above incubator is for sale here https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=588816

I heard that those are wonderful incubators. I am a very small time breeder so I only have a hova bator. It only hold 42 eggs, but thats ok for me. And call ducks are a difficult breed to hatch. good luch though!

Duckgirl...i dont think there is a duck thread you ever miss...lol

Were did you buy the incubator ?? i would like one for my calls. just got back from darrel sheraws place in PA and he used these too. what a sight all his call ducks were!

Darrel is such a nice guy! Love talking Calls with him when every I see him! His book is the Call Duck Bible!!!!

They are super hard to find, we searched every classified known to man. The one's we found needed a little TLC, but Hubby is a wiz at fixin them!

So since we have two larges ( 6 trays ) & one small ( 4 tray ) I've talked him into letting one go! Boy that was an act of god!!!! I figured since we are going to Crossroads & Ohio national, and have a cargo trailer, I figured I list it for sale, and would gladly deliver to one of those shows!
