I think I’m going to finally break down and purchase my first incubator. Between my serama pullet and my two silkies it seems someone is often broody but they get in such poor condition I’ve been locking them out of the coop lately. It looks 1 of my Onagadori pullets is starting to lay. I also have some faverolles and light brahmas starting to lay. So I need an incubator that will do well with different sizes of eggs but probably don’t want to hatch more than a dozen at a time. Really appreciate your experienced opinions.

Hovabator 1588 with egg Turner. Runs about $225 with egg turner included and shipped. Hatch 1 egg or 40, excellent hatch rates.

Or hovabator 1602n. I wire in a computer fan to make it circulated and a stc1000 digital thermostat to make it digital. After shipping and buying an egg turner, stc1000, and incubator you'll have about $125. And it works just as well as the hovabator 1588.

Best of luck. You can build a small incubator with a cooler, wire for eggs to sit off floor, lightbulb, thermostat, and computer fan. And just turn eggs by hand a few times a day. This won't cost you more than $30 and work great for small hatches.
