New to the chicken scene, and my 3 pullets have so far successfully ignored my attempt of making them a dust bath 😂

They seemed to have picked the corner of a dried up flower bed. I've seen them attempt to bathe there. But it's got me thinking, what are the best ingredients to put down on dust bath?

Dry earth, sand and a DE?

Mine only dust bathe in the dry dirt in the yard. Nothing added to it.

Yup. My ingredients include dry dirt and shade. Also other chickens ..it’s gotta be a group activity ;)
Or introduce young chicks to the flock and all heck breaks out by the older chickens next to the newbies

Just dry dirt should be fine.
Nothing else is needed unless the run is on clay or rock.
