if you cant find the chicks (breeds) you really want you can get an incubator for not that much $. i have hatched quite a few with broody hens and bought day olds but there is NOTHING like doing it in an incubator at least once! i had never seen them actually hatching and breaking free of the egg. i read everything i could over and over all during the process. i sent in and looked at the eggs and temp ad humidity every hour i think when i was home. and close to hatch day OMG...i practically LIVED in the room they were in. Then all day watches to see them emerge and tumble out exhausted and wet and not the fluffy little chicks we are used to seeing! it was really special experience.
