Best Place to Buy Hemp Bedding?

Hello everyone,

I am new to chickens and I’ve heard hemp bedding is awesome. I need bedding ASAP and I can’t find any at my local stores in central New York. Anybody have an idea where I can buy this locally or do I have to buy it online?


I found this on Amazon. It’s expensive though unfortunately.

We actually have THREE hemp processing plants right here in the Southern Tier of NY. I'm within a 25 minute drive of all of them. I can't find a single local seller of hemp bedding!

I bought 4 bales from New Country Organics and the shipping pretty much doubled the cost. But I only clean out my coop once a year so it's not too bad.

The bedding is great. Very low in dust. Much lower than pine shavings.

Sorry that I’m jumping on here months later, but I have a question. Do you mist your hemp bedding with water? I‘ve read that on various websites and wonder if it’s necessary.
