Anyone have recommendations on a good place to order quality birds that are sexed pullets? I've been getting straight run from a local breeder and love her birds but I have gotten SO MANY ROOSTERS. I really would like a black copper marans pullet and the one I got is definitely looking like a rooster. I've gotten 10 chicks and so far I have 5 confirmed roo's and while I'm not sure about the rest at least another 2 or 3 I think are roo's as well. The only confirmed pullet I have from them is the cream legbar but of course you know them from hatch out. So is there a place I can order vent sexed birds so I don't have to raise an entire new crop for all of them to be roosters again???

There are many hatcheries that offer mail order vent sexed chicks... the best one though is likely going to be the one closest to you. Also many farm stores offer pullers only of various breeds.

Edit:
Are you looking for s specific breed... or show quality... if so that might negate my previous reply

I'd like a Copper marans and a blue laced red wyandotte. I was going for a couple ameraucanas since I wanted blue eggs too, but then I got the cream legbar so I may forgo them the second time around. I wouldn't mind show quality in case my daughter gets in to 4H but not a must at this point. Just nice healthy birds from a reputable place.

Cackle Hatchery carries both of those and offers them sexed... I can’t speak to the quality of lacing or color of the Marans eggs though, as I’ve never got those breeds from there.... I just know their catalog since they are close to me.

I did pick up nice healthy birds that were accurately sexed from them last year... but they were different breeds.

I did have some red laced blue Wyandotte ordered from them this year, but had to cancel the order due to a business trip than came up on the day I was to pick them up....

I mention this to point out that they’re availability for that breed is often listed as not available... but they do have them from time to time ... so you’d just have to check and maybe plan and wait a bit.

That’s all the info I have ... maybe others will know of other sources that also offer pullets only in the breeds you want.
