Ok honey you need to calm down. Noone is being mean nor telling her she is not experienced enough or not good enough.

Some of us are trying to explain that things can happen. It takes a lot to raise a foal and there are many things that can happen in the first three years of a young horses life that most people wouldn't believe.
A very good friend of mine raises Arabs and two years ago her 6 month old colt was playing like always in the paddock and he fell in a strange way and broke his neck. He had to be euthanized and she was heart broken.
Not saying that anything like that would happen, but the OP would be much better off finding a nicely started cow horse than starting with a foal. There can be hidden medical conditions that might not show up until the horse is to be broke then what she is stuck with a horse that she can't ride or use.

Oh and like I said before most people do not hire trainers that are uninsured. So her asking for money to train horses is something that is not going to happen.

WELL FACT EVERYONE IS TELLING HER SHE IS INEXPERIENCED!!!! AND U KNOW WHAT SHE JUST ASKED A SIMPLE QUESTION AND EVERYONE IS DOING ALL THIS SHE EVEN NOW ASKED ME IF I THINK SHES A GOOD RIDER!!! SHES DOUBTING HERSELF CAUSE OF U PEOPLE!!!!!

While you might like to think that you have godlike powers of full control over an animal's life or death, the reality is, Stuff Happens.

A significant fraction of all horses that are born will -- EVEN WITH VERY GOOD CARE -- experience enough of life's little surprises that they do not survive to age 3 or reach that age in unrideable condition.

Seriously, "when Rachel is a famous trainer" she will realize that foals are gambles, and it would be better to learn it now from being *told* (or from observing how the world around you works) rather than maybe investing thousands of dollars and a coupla years into a horse only to have it seriously injured, or founder, or colic, or develop uncorrectable contracted tendons or OCD-type lameness, without you having ever been able to exert your prodigious famous-trainer skills ON it.

Some other moneymaking ideas, though, as I realize Toby *is* getting a bit small for you and you may well *be* in the market for a new horse of some sort or another:

-- mowing lawns
-- picking up dog poo (not as gross as it sounds)
-- sell some of your stuff you don't use much
-- spend less money on other things (dunno how mcuh this applies to you, obviously if you're not buying DVDs and burgers and clothes then there is not much you can save that way, but if you are, you can)
