Best water cups or other solution?

I've got a heated ripple waterer for the winter, but i prefer not to use nipples in the summer. I have the rent a coop 2 gallon with cups, but we need a bigger one. Those cups clog often enough that I wanted to ask if anyone else has had better luck with other systems. I don't like the traditional watering systems, because of the poop getting in there not that the poop doesn't get in the cups, but it's less.

Hopefully links are allowed, I found these on Amazon and they work amazing, as they fill the weight of the water in the cup stops flow. I'm currently using the screw in ones on a bucket, but would work great for a trash can also. Plan to pipe the other option up with PVC in the coop to a rainwater barrel.
