We are considering getting sebright bantams, who have a reputation for being good flyers. Every time we get new chickens we clip their wings, and this seems to work pretty well, but I'm worried that this won't stop the sebrights from flying over our 5 1/2 ft. fence. When we clip our chickens wings, we cut the primary flight feathers on one wing, but I've heard it's more effective if you clip the feathers on both wings, just not as much on one wing to still keep it off balance. Is this true? Are there any other ways to do it more effectively? Will the sebrights still be able to get over our fence? Any answers are appreciated.
