I know you're supposed to wait, but what if you're out of things to eat and don't feel like going to the grocery store? Looks like our big cochin roo is on the menu tonight.

He'll be butchered around 4 o'clock this afternoon... we'd like to eat before 8 or 9 if possible, lol.

Any suggestions?

When I have lived/holidayed in hot countries I have seen live chickens sold
to be killed when they get home. Normal cooking rules apply. However,
(40 years ago) soldiers working in the Middle East were told not to eat
day-old fresh meat because their stomachs could not handle the bacteria
as the West is used to meat that has been hanging for a few days. Hysteria?
I honestly don't know. I have eaten fresh meat and cooked it as per
usual with no problems. Enjoy!
