Best way to mark chicks

What is the best way to mark newly hatched chicks in order to differentiate between breeds ? I have a batch of white leghorns and white orpingtons due to hatch together and dont want to mix the two !

Orps should have pink legs, the leghorns yellow. You put a dab of food coloring on the top of their heads.
