The two feed places in town offer either Purina or Nutrena. Does anyone have recommendations?

Purina start n grow has worked for me, am trying out a bag of Flockraiser (Purina) next and also would like to switch to Bar ale (hint, anyone in CA on Bar ale?) have ordered 2 bags of that since the ingredients seem a bit better and they are available in town vs spending $ on gas to the nearest cheap supplier of Purina....Honestly though no problems with Purina at all, just wanted a higher % of protein and want my 8 / 12 week olds to stay on medicated feed alittle longer (the Bar ale crumble is medicated and high protein, the Flock raiser is higher protein but umedicated....)-- Hope that helps....

I use neither. I don't like the Purina feeds I've gotten in the past and I've heard people in other threads, even a breeder, recommend Nutrena.

Don't fall for the "no animal products" on the label. Chickens are not vegetarians and it's very difficult to give them everything they need to thrive without "animal products" in it.
