Bgak

Seriously, what does bgak mean? It starts off as buck buck buck getting a bit faster then a loud BGAK! All the girls stop what they're doing and look at the hen speaking. If I do this they all look at me like I'm nuts or pronounced it wrong.

I've heard my hens make that noise just after they've layed an egg, and also when they were upset, like when they saw a predator.

The 'I just laid an egg' speech / song is quite different. At times I think it's alarm or worry talk but one time it was part of a lecture I was receiving for cleaning the coop without clearing it with the girls first!

They do this when scared/startled/frightened. I can usually get all mine going by doing it!
