My friendliest chicken is now staying away from the others since yesterday. I noticed last night she was on the coop floor so I put her on a roosting bar.

This morning she was by herself in the runwhile everyone else went to forage. When I threw out some table scraps, all came running except for her. I noticed when I went up to her she was walking a lot slower than usual. I gave her scraps and she did eat a few.

When I got home I found her isolated in the bottom corner of the coop. She stayed there until the evening. I pet her and she wouldn't move, but when I tried to pick her up she sounded irritated and gave up a little fight. Also, when I tried to pull her out and I got in a fight with my rooster. I was surprised because he came out in the dark and scraped my calf. Afterwards I tried to move my bielefelder out with a shovel, she finally went to roost on her own.

I plan on isolating her tomorrow. Any one know what could be wrong?
She is about 8 months old and hasn't started laying yet.

If you recommend medicine, please let me know where to obtain it.

Thanks.

Is she broody?

Can you get a video of her actions? Upload video to YouTube and provide a link.
I'm not sure if she's broody because I haven't seen her sit on any eggs but I will watch out for it. Will try youtube if she seems worse.

*This morning I gave her scrambled eggs and she ate fine. Since she is on the roosting bar she doesn't want to come down. I put a makeshift ramp in coop to maybe coax her down. I'm wondering if she has a leg injury because she's a bigger girl.
(Pardon the baby)

She may be having a hard time expelling her first egg.

I think I'd give her extra Calcium for several days to see if that helps. Check to make sure her crop is emptying overnight.

Give 1 Calcium Citrate+D3 tablet, right into the beak once daily.

Thanks for the advice. I will be getting some tomorrow. Her poop looks much better and I will check her crop in the AM.

Now I'm having a new issue. I let her out in the afternoon and she reconvened with the other chickens. There was some pecking from the hens but she seemed to still be following the others around the yard.
When I got home at dusk all the others were in the coop and she was by herself next to our house. She had some missing feathers on her head and a little blood by her comb.
Is this normal behavior or are the other hens scaring her away? What should I do to reintroduce her to the other hens?
Thanks!

Yes, she was removed from the flock for a few days, this will make it harder for her to be accepted back. Unfortunately, hens can be quite mean to one another when separated. I do not remove birds from their flock even if injured or sick. Instead, if necessary, I set up a cage or separate area within the coop/run and treat them while they are still with their flock.

I'd put her with them in the morning, observe to see how interactions go. Sounds like everything is going somewhat o.k. until it's time to go into the coop for roosting, then they may be viewing her as an intruder. You may have to take her in after dark and put her on the roost.

Thanks. I just put her in the coop before sunrise. I will monitor her again today.
