big crop

I have a 4 week old chick and her crop is 2-3 times bigger then the rest. Is she ok what is going on?

Probably she's fine. Sometimes it's the position of the crop on the particular bird that makes it look really big.

But to be sure, just withdraw their food during the night - for 8 to 12 hours - after they've had plenty to eat and made those crops full. Then in the morning, after they've had no food all that time, check to make sure their crops have emptied - or pretty much so. If they have, then generally, all is well. If her crop is still large in the morning, then research or post a thread for "impacted crop."

I don't think a chick's crop will get impacted if they're only on chick starter. Has she been eating anything else?
