Big hello from Delaware

Hey everyone out there, just want to say a big howya doin from a little spot in Delaware, been reading and learning and educating myself about chickens...so many of you have a wealth of info out there and have to thank you for all your interesting stories and pics ...so anyway a big howdy from me

Howdy from Illinois! What kind of chickens do you keep?
We live in town, not out in the country. We have a silkie rooster, a silkie hen, an Americauna hen and a rose-comb bantam hen. Spoilt pets. That last one hatched 2 chicks 8 weeks ago, we think they're Silkie/Americauna mix. DH named them "meatbird" and "fryer". They're cute. (no, they won't be eaten. Just pets for the kids)

I am new to the whole blog thing, too. So I am wondering if I did this right.

Anyhow, do you know anything about whether people can catch diseases or worms from their pet chickens?
