I have an old structure that used to house hogs, it is about 20 ft x 50 ft. I want to put my chickens in it and make it into a coop but I don;t need it that big. I will need to put wire around some of the walls that remain. I need help designing the inside. Where to put what.

Thanks

Just make your chicken housing in one end of structure and leave the rest open for chickens to run around in if they so desire. By making your roosts , and feed area at that end, your chickens will naturally hang around there. If you need to go away and not able to let your chickens out for a few days, they have enough room to cruise around in. Tight quarters, overcrowding for the amount of given room, are things to avoid. You would naturally have all these issues solved by default.
Now comes the question,,,,,,,, do you need the rest of that space for other uses??? If so, then just divide the shed into your desired size for the amount of chickens you want to keep. The rule of thump, on space is 4 square feet per chicken in coop. The run is 10 square feet per chicken. Nothing is written in STONE , but these are good guidelines.
Here is a link to a thread with numerous pix of coops and related items. Scan thru it and get IDEAS as to what would possibly work for you. Hard for me to make suggestions to you without knowing just exactly what your needs/desires are for your coop housing. The number of chickens kept also a big factor.
Your location (general, not specific. is good to see in your profile) It allows peeps to make better suggestions based on weather, as well as predator activity.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I see an original Woods Coop turned into shed at some point, and you remodeled it to your needs. :thumbsup
Nope, was never a Woods coop or even an chicken coop to my knowledge, just a 16 x 16 clerestory shed.
It was here when I bought the property 20 years ago, built by the owner(who also built the house in the late 70's) for storage, all the windows were/are static lights cleated in place(same slider window panels that are in the house). It's an awesome building, made better by my adding eaves, then chickens. :D
