Biosecurity info for purchasing adult quail

Hi, I'd like to get some laying quail hens from a local seller. I'm assuming non NPIP. Are there any health risks I should be aware of? Is it better just to pay a bit more and buy from a certified hatchery? I have other poultry (quail, ducks, chickens). Thanks

If you can, keep them separated for a couple weeks to make sure they're healthy. Check for mites too before putting them in with your existing covey.

I agree with @Nabiki but also check out the facilities that you buy them from, are they clean, not over crowded, waterers and feeders clean, overall general condition of the pens and birds.
