If it were birchen it would only have white in the neck and a little lacing in the breast.

If it were birchen it would only have white in the neck and a little lacing in the breast.

That would be the color of a hen, Birchen males still have silver in the wing bow and saddle feathers.

Silver Duck-Wing is Black Breasted Red with Silver added.
Birchen is Brown Red with Silver added.
