I got lucky and he crawled into an upturned end table that had a bit of a lip (basically became a shallow box with legs!) carried the whole thing outside
we live in an area that gets a lot of snakes and rat snakes I'll typically leave be unless they're trying to get at chickens. We get a lot of copperheads and occasional rattlesnakes and those are kill on sight. Thankfully never had those in the house (knock on wood!) We are on the edge of a lake cove and it's all very rocky out here so we get all kinds of things. My mom calls it Jurassic Park
