I've been hatching eggs as a hobby for 2 years now, and I just herd of this disease/infestation ''bird mites''? they sound like they harm the birds and humans as well. So how do I know its on them, and how do I take it off?

Mites on chickens are pretty common, and while they can lead to weakness and eventually death, my chickens have them, aren't treated for them, and do fine. They dust bathe and get rid of them, only really having an issue right after winter. The only chickens I lost that had mites were already sick.
If you see lots of small black, grey or red dots crawling around on the perches, nest boxes, or any cages you have, or on the bird themselves, than you can try a variety of methods to get rid of them. Offer a dust bathing sight, spray down the coop with mite killer, and dust the chickens with Diatomaceous Earth (DE) or with a special mite killing powder.
Chicks are more delicate, and some of these methods can be harmful to them, so be careful what products you use.

Best of luck!
