my run is cover with 2x4 galvanized wire which has kept all varmints at bay, but allows pesky sparrows (an actual species Passer domesticus peskius) to get through. will 1" hexogon chicken wire keep them out?

Those little buggers (Passer domesticus peskius buggerus) will squeeze thru the 1" wire if they want to get to some of your chicken feed.

Yeah, then there's one or two that always tend to get stuck and not figure how to get out :-|
