I read somewhere that budgies and other birds glow under UV light and that their egg shells glow too since they see in UV light and it helps them find their eggs and chicks in a dark nest! And after reading that I started wondering... "what do roosters look like... does their dance they do for hens help them impress the hens because of how they see in UV?" So last night I went out to my coops with a UV light and was very careful not to let any of my birds have direct sight of the UV light... and what I found was INCREDIBLE!!! Although the photos don't capture it very well, the gold pigment in the feathers was glowing bright neon green and turquoise and any silver pigmentation was glowing bright neon blue! And since my roosters both have black bodies I saw quite a bit of purple pigment where there black feathers were! I was also amazed at how incredibly bright their earlobes were! ill put the photos in a spoiler since they might hurt to look at lol
