Birthday Cake for a goose

How about a whole grain carrot cake, hold the sugar and salt. Decorate with a couple of edible flowers. Maybe put some chopped apples into the cake batter.

My geese adore whole grain bread. White bread, not so much. I had to stop their bread treat because they were getting too fat. But anyway, I know they like whole grain baked goods

I say make a regular cake for the guests. Chances are your goose won't eat - or even be afraid of - whatever new birthday treat you introduce her to.

A friend of mine made a treat dispenser for my goose Keld last year for his first birthday. It was just a wooden board with holes drilled in it and Keld's favorite treats (dog food) in the holes. The little holes spelled "Keld 1 year". Really cute, but Keld was terrified of it, he hissed and wouldn't go near the board for a week. The most popular gift was a beautiful bouquet of dandelions with lots of leaves - Keld dug into it right away!

I made a cake for the guests with a fondant covered RKT goose head sticking out of it. If Keld had seen it, he probably would have hissed at it and trampled it.

I was thinking the same thing, my goose doesn't like anything that isn't familar, so his cake would have to be w/w bread with romiane lettuce as the icing. Thats about all he'll have anything to do with besides his reg. feed. lol
