Long story short, the fox that is the bane of my existence decided to pay us a visit while the chickens were free-ranging. Now, I'm down my cochin, and the other one is in a box next to me. She got bit and is missing a whole lot of feathers. I saw one puncture wound. I put some quick first aid on it, and have given her some Rescue Remedy. Anything else I should do? Chickens go into shock, don't they? Anything I can do about the puncture wound? Bahhhhh! I'm so mad!

have you tried setting traps for the fox?
it must be one of the fox who live around cities and prey on chickens to feed their young
where you out when the chickens were free ranging?
Did it take the dead cochin off with it?

just give the wound cleaning and put iodine on it or beditine lotion or spray
and keep the bird in till it heals

you can give the bird some
wet mash probiotic
3 tbsp of dry crumbles
5-1/2 tbsp of milk any kind
1 tbsp of yoguart
feed this twice a day till the bird has healed
and put 1 tbsp of ACV in qt od water fro her also
