I have a 7 week old black ameraucana pullet and she has some unique white specks on her. I was wondering is the speckles will stay as she gets older or will it just fade out and she will just be black?

There is a mottled breed called the Ancona that has the same sort of speckles, she could be mixed with them?If she has the same genes I would imagine like most mottled breeds she will get more white speckles as she ages!:)

That would be cool if she kept her speckles. All of the other ameraucana chicks I have are all black. She is the only one who is this marking.

I have a Black Brahma chick with the same situation. Supposed to be black, but mottling is coming in. Apparently it can stay hidden in the line for years! So potentially it will stay! It's a very exciting discovery
