That is a rooster. Sorry! You can tell by the pointy hackle and sickle feathers plus the large and red comb and wattles.

Thank you. Is it best to rehome now or after he is older? I can wait until he starts crowing. I mean do people generally prefer a juvinile like this or older. I'm so sad. This one was my favorite.

Since you know he's male, and you probably don't want him to go for the table, I'd start advertising him asap. Give you more time to find him a home.

If you don't plan on keeping him, I'd start trying to find a home for him now. It often takes a while to find roosters another home.
