So for all you that wondered what the earliest would be for an Aussie.
Momma Hen laid her 1st egg ON ME !
She hopped the fence earlier today so I locked them in the back yard but she kept pacing. She was looking like she was going to jump 5 feet up to the deck. So I went in and sat in the run with them all. Her face was red red earlier (a sign they are soon to lay) but it got a bit white and went over for water. Thought I heard her make a faint noise so I was watching.
She came over and stood on my leg (I was sitting on ground with legs out) and stood Tall. Like a Roo does but I could see her butt feathers wiggling. I didn't know if she was going to poop or egg... I was going to put my hand there but didn't want to be pooped on HAHHAHA
Out popped a tiny egg, about the size of a Silkie egg IIRC from years ago. Solid egg, nothing soft so I better go check around to make sure this is truly her first.
So excited, now to get her to go in the nest where I put a golf ball and fake easter egg lol
Sharpie for size but it's hard to tell

First eggs NEVER get old...well the eggs do, but the feeling of finding them never does ;-)
