My two black australorp pullet chicks side by side, purchased at the same time, but one is larger/older. I'm beginning to think the larger one is not an australorp as it doesn't look much like the other. Coloring is different as are the wings.

Any thoughts on what this spunky little chick is?

nope, still australorp, the white will filter out when they grow

Hard to say with certainty at this age. Looks like an australorp. I would expect more white on this chick though, but this can vary. Are they the same age? What color are the soles of the feet? Australorps have pink/white feet. 😊

I'm leaning towards Australorp as well. My Australorp Raven was HUGE as a chick and had lovely white coloring on her chest until she got her big girl feathers in.
