Being new and purchasing what I thought were Barred Rocks from a local Tractor Supply...After a little research and help from another poster on here I found out these could be Australorp or Jersey Giants. I finally got a picture of the underside of their feet. I see yellow, but some see pinkish color. I’ve never been around either breed so I’m unsure 🤷‍♀️ They both are super sweet and friendly! They have a greenish sheen to their feathers and both black legs and feet.

If the feet are white or pinkish white on bottom they are Australorps if they are yellow they are Jersey giants. The only other way to tell is mature body size a jersey giant hen will be on average around 4 pounds heavier than an Australorp when mature.

I may be color blind 😬 I just can’t differentiate the color. I’ve never been around either breeds so I wouldn’t know based on weight difference...so I’m lost

Between the two breeds, I think you've got Black Australorp! Black Australorps usually have greenish sheens to their feathers, and are usually a very docile and quiet breed. Looks like you have a rooster, as well! Black Australorps are an awesome breed!
Thank you I appreciate your help! I believe I have a rooster and hen🤞 and would love to breed them if I can!

They look like black australorps. I absolutely love mine. She is so beautiful and friendly, and she's a great mom. She adopted four chicks a month ago, and has been raising them really well.

Yes, I own many australorps, and that is definitely one of that breed. XD :love I agree with @HappyClucker7 They are great mothers and layers, and I would highly recommend them to anyone. :)
You sound like you have lots of experience. I see both colors on this foot. Your thoughts? I am wondering if she is a australorp or jersey giant(someone suggested it’s possible)
