Black Blue Laced Red Wyandotte

I ordered a Blue Laced Red Wyandotte from Meyer Hatchery along with other chicks. My chick looks more black so I'm thinking it will be of the black variation. I googled pictures of what this chick may look like, but didn't find a whole lot. Do you guys have some pictures of what the black variation looks like. I love the splash and blue so I hoping I love the black too.

If you type in black laced red many images come up, but specifically i typed in black blue laced red because it's supposed to be a blue laced red Wyandotte.

Yup. Unfortunately if you cross blue laced red to blue laced red you get 25 percent black laced red.

There isn't a black blue laced. They're either black laced, blue laced or splash laced.
Google black laced red wyandotte and the first three that came up for me were a hen a rooster and then a pair.

Ohhhh gotcha. Man I'm bummed. I really loved the blue laced and splash. I love my girl though so I'm sure I'll think she's beautiful anyway!

Yours definitely looks like the black Laced red chick.
Personally, I like the Black LR better but I totally understand your disappointment.

I'm with ya. A nice blue laced would be my favorite but those splash laced are really nice too.
Only thing I have against the black are they're so much like a gold laced which I've seen a million of.
Wish the hatcheries would breed splash to blacks so all their blue varieties would be blue.
