black bred to red do you get brown

Depends on what breeds and the individual genetics of the birds in question, but as a short answer, you will most likely see a variety of colors in the offspring. For example, when I breed a Golden Duckwing to a white, I get whites, splashes, buffs, blues, golden duckwings, silver duckwings, blue-buffs, blue-reds, black-breasted reds, and everything in between. Considering that a Golden Duckwing is genetically 1/2 silver duckwing and 1/2 black-breasted red, the variance in those results is probably a little extreme compared to a simple black X red mix -- but you get the idea.
