Black Cockerel with Bright Yellow Legs?

I have a black cockerel who has a couple dots of white and 4 or so silver double laced feathers on his breast but his legs are bright, bright yellow. I thought the loci that created black also darkened the legs. How's this possible?

There are a few breeds that calls for bright yellow legs, for example the Black Plymouth Rocks, Black Wyandottes and Black Leghorns.

There could be many ways to breed for a self black bird with yellow legs, one would be to based them on ER(Birchen ER/ER) instead of Extended Black(E/E) with Melanizers like Melanotic, Pg, and basing them with the sex linked dermal inhibitor Id
