Hello everyone, As you can see in the pictures, my rooster is not doing so well. He was gifted to us as a chick with a deformed wing, grew out of it but always has a studdering walk. I figured it had something to do with a neurological issue. He didn't crow until about a month ago at 10 months old which is pretty late from my own experience. He doesn't really tid-bit and it quite picked on by the 10 hens of different ages that I have, including the three he grew up with. Last Sunday, he didn't want to come out of the coop, I checked on him an hour later and found he had come out but was huddled in a corner with drool coming out of his beak and shaking. I immediately brought him in and kenneled him. Provided regular feed, water with electolytes. Syringe fed him the water because I didn't see him drinking. I did that for the whole week until today when I saw that he would follow the drops to the pad, so I got a lid and put water in there then he would drink it, so I got a bigger/deeper lid for the water, he continued to drink until he literally threw up. mostly drool. I had to take it away. Then he started drinking out of the original bowl I had in there. So, I removed that one. He did eat some feed but wouldn't stop drinking. I will put it back in, in a while. I don't want him to drink himself to death. Last Monday I started giving him drops of Ivermectin, and aspirin in syringe water. Seemed to bring him back to life but the black is not going away and now he has a white rim around one eye. Im not sure what to give him. I have eye ointment here: erythromycin but not sure if that is good for him. I also have an anti-fungal called butenafine Hydrochloride. Not sure if that is good for him either. Ive tried caster oil on his comb for a few days with no change and recently for the last second half of this week Ive been using coconut oil. Also no changes except for the eye now looking not so good. Ugh. Not sure what to do or use. I wanna help my little guy. I miss his crowing and just want him better. Any supportive thoughts and/or suggestions are welcome. Thanks

He looks beat up with all of the black on his comb. Has another rooster been fighting or chasing him? Running into chicken wire fencing can add to the damage. For his eye, I would flush it with saline or an eye wash, and then apply Terramycin eye ointment or Polysporin eye drops into his eye 2-3 times a day. How does his crop feel early in the morning? Do you have multiple feed and water locations?
Edited to say that erythromycin is also good to use in his eye.

There are no other roosters or chicken wire for him to get caught up in. I only use 1/4” hardware cloth. I did see him start to mate one of the hens and the others came after him and started pecking at him. I didn’t think they could do all that damage though. It seemed to have happened overnight. It looks like a growth more than “war” wounds. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I would clean his eye and use the ointment. Continue to watch them to see what is going on. He is obviously getting pecked or injured by some chickens or a predator.

No predators. If you think its an attack then it must be the hens because none of them have really taken to him from the beginning. 😢. He seems to always get pecked at. Maybe they sense he has the neurological problem.
