Black Copper Maran, hen or roo?

Hi all!
I am new to the chicken world... And love having them in my backyard. I was told my black copper Maran is a hen but now I'm not so sure.. She is approx 7 mo. What do you think?

The bird pictured is a cockerel.

Dark red shoulders, male hackle feathers, and male saddle feathers all scream cockerel. And he looks to be about 4 months old, not 7.
