Hi, I got a new black copper maran together with a cream legbar. I introduced them to my existing flock of 2 white leghorn, 2 brown leghorn and a rhode island red. The maran laid the day we got her and not since. That was 5 weeks ago. She stays away from the flock during the day but has no problem getting a roosting spot at night. Any help would be much appreciated.

Welcome to BYC! It seems that she is having some type of stress put on her. I would look all over her for some injuries as that may happen. I had a little roo who all of a sudden was distant. But that is irevelent. Maybe get a crate and put some food and water then put her in the run.

The egg she laid the day you got her started to form the day before.
She hasn't laid since because she is stressed from the move to a new place.
Marans are not the most prolific layers in the best of times.
If shes older than 12 months, and you live in the northern hemisphere, she may need to molt and not lay until the days start getting longer after the Solstice.

Oh, and, Welcome to BYC!
