I have a Black Copper Marans Cockerel hatched out on 12/23/12. He is a very sweet boy, was hand-raised. He is already starting to have rooster qualities and trying to perch up high so he can be above his girls. Just stands still to be picked up and held. I am located in Southern VT. Black Copper Marans lay the darkest of the marans breed. If bred to a blue or green egg layer it can produce a bird which is called an "Olive-Egger" which will produce an Olive colored egg.
