Black Copper Marans or other forager

I’m new to the forum, and I’m looking for a great forager breed. I’ve read a lot about the marans being great foragers and am looking for something similar. The birds will be kept on about 8acres of wooded area and I’m looking for them to clean up some of my insect issues too lol...... anyone have any contacts in PA, Lehigh valley area?

I'm so glad I saw your post. The Dominique is a great forager! O have Marans also but I think the Dominique wins in that category!

I think most breeds are good foragers to some extent. Marans are quite good in that respect, as are Leghorns, Fayoumis, Campines, and Welsummers. This being said, bantams aren't the best options, other than Sebrights, who are out there ridding the world of bugs with their larger flockmates. (from my experience, anyway )
