Black Copper Marans vs BCM Sexlink Egg Color

I want to get some Black Copper Marans chicks, and someone recommended BCM sexlinks. Since the sexlink is a mixed breed, wouldn't the eggs be a lighter brown color? Once i had an Americauna roo and a BCM hen who laid dark brown eggs and the babies laid a dark green egg, as if the genes for the light green egg and the dark brown egg just mixed. So wouldn't that be true of BCM Sexlinks since one parent is a barred rock? the white egg gene plus the dark brown egg gene mixed would produce a light brown egg???

The barred rock would contribute a normal brown egg gene. You should end up with a medium dark brown.

I thought hatcheries selling these sexlinked marans would put a bcm roo over a cuckoo hen, keeping it in the maran breed and laying darker eggs. The only hatchery I have seen these for sale (privett), sells both bcm and cuckoo.

That's the only version I've seen, as well.
