Black Grouse

I just saw these neat birds in a documentary and thought I'd share it if none of you has seen it either.

They are called the Black Grouse and are native to Europe.

I've had good luck with prairie chickens as my first grouse. Definitely not a bird you want to buy without alot of pheasant experience.

Several of the local zoos are working with the endangered prairie chickens here in Texas.

I thought their tail curlys while they were displaying was cute.

Prairie Chickens are alot easier than Black grouse to raise and a whole lot cheaper than the Black grouse price tag of $1250 to $1450/pair. Prairie's run $250 to $300/pair, $500/trio.
