I am 7 Black Japanese Bantams and all of them have very scaly legs. They are thick and lumpy. Does anyone know what this would be? I got them when they were about 9 weeks old and they were like that when I got them. Any infor. would be helpful.

Could possibly be scaly leg mites. You can type in "scaly leg mites" in the search box and check out the various treatments and maybe even some pictures might be available. I've never dealt with them.

Thanks, I will do that. I wonder if they can be transmitted to the other birds I have in the pen with them. It's just weird that all of them had it when I got them. I have them with a few silkies for the winter and they seem ok. I'll check out the scaly leg mites and get back to ya, thanks again:celebrate
