Here is a one day old white chantecler (mom) and black jersey giant (dad) mix. I’m surprised at how light and small the bird is! Anyone done this mix? I’m curious to see what it might look like!

You can usually google chicken calculators for this sort of thing, and they’re typically accurate. But, I’ve saved you the trouble...

25% white pullets
25% black pullets
25% white cockerals
25% black cockerals

Also, most chicken calculators have an animated suggestion picture to go along with your genetic mixes. Good luck with those little ones! I know that hatching and raising chicks can be a handfull, especially with an incubator. Personally, I prefer broodies, but you don’t get those very often. My favorite chicken calculator is at... Cross Breeds of Chickens

What kind of comb does the chick have? Are you sure the mom is the Chantecler? They are usually recessive white, so the chick should be black.

No comb I can see! Definitely the mix. All we have are jersey giant roosters and our chanteclers are the only ones that lay light coloured eggs!

So cute! Keep us posted on how this baby turns out.
The chantecler was almost in my spring order of chicks this year but I changed my mind at the last minute as I was nervous they wouldn’t be able to handle our hot/humid KY summers.

Good choice. I’m in Quebec and they are great in the winter but even our hottest days are hard on them. They’re great dual purpose birds though.
