I saw the BJGs and instantly fell in love with them. To me they look like big powerful birds. But I'm looking for eggs as well. I know I will get mixed answers about specific breeds but lay them on me! Would BJGs be decent for eggs? I want to get a flock (at least 10). I know they get huge. Is there a better layer but with similar size? What other breeds do you suggest? By the way I'm a novice.

If you are just starting out..i suggest getting different types...one of each...then you can tell them apart and different color eggs too. Get them as chicks and they will all get along But you are doing the right thing by researching... a lot of good egg layers out there. Good-luck

Any specific breeds that come to mind? Do any breeds not get along with others?
