Black Legs on my Guinea Fowl

Has anyone come across guinea fowl legs turning black. they are perfectly healthy in every other way, but their lovely orange legs are going black

Glad you could join the flock! I'm afraid I've no experience with guineas apart from the 2 free range ones we have at the farm where I keep the horse. They do have a great alarm call and that's about it for my guinea knowledge. I see you have posted in the guinea section, I'm sure lots of keepers there will be able to help you. Do you mean just black or black as in rotted or infected? If it's just a benign color change, I don't think it's worth worrying about.

My royal purples and pearl grays have dark colored legs, they get darker as they mature into adults.

Thanks for all the responses to my worries about my guinea fowl's blackening legs . They are very reassuring and as they are healthy birds I will assume it is just a change in pigmentation.
