Black Rat Snake in my pen

I have 15 9 week old chickens, and this afternoon, I went out to the pen and saw a 2 foot black rat snake slithering out of the pen being watched by all 15 chickens. I know black rat snakes will eat chicks and eggs, but how about pullets and cockerels. I have also read that full grown chickens sometimes catch and eat black snakes, has anyone ever seen this? Sure hope he leaves my chickens alone.

It was a rat snake that ate one and killed three of our chicks, they were about 6 weeks old at the time. However, he was huge and about 5-6 foot long.

I hope he leaves your chickens alone too, maybe the snake should be scared of your chickens by there age
