We had 3 BSL chicks hatched by a silkie about 2 months ago and they are mainly black with red tint on the breast. One has beautiful green tint to the feathers on her back.
4 weeks ago we had 5 BSL pullets hatch and they were black like the others ones. Well 2 of the five now have RIR colored breast and black heads. I thought they would all look alike. IS it normal with mutts of the same parents to get such different variety of coloring? Kind of like our kids who all look different I guess. I will have to take and post pictures.
