Welcome to BYC! Black Sex Links are my favorite chickens, being hardy, friendly, and egg laying machines, and I've had them for years (and still have them). Like dawg53, I have purchased them from Ideal Poultry in Texas (http://idealpoultry.com/), as well as Murray McMurray Hatchery in Iowa (http://www.mcmurrayhatchery.com/index.html), and Dunlap Hatchery in Idaho (http://dunlaphatchery.net/). Of the three hatcheries, Dunlap is my favorite. They are smaller that the other two, but I have never lost a single chick in shipping from them (I can't say that about the other two), and the folks at Dunlap are very friendly and helpful. However, I have no complaints about the other two (I've been satisfied with their birds and service), and even with the loss of a chick or two in shipping, they always put two or three extra in the boxes so I got what I paid for. I don't know where you live, but it's always a good idea not to have to ship them any farther from necessary [having said that, I have had chicks shipped from Ideal (in Texas) to the big island of Hawaii (mainly because most hatcheries will not ship to Hawaii but Ideal will)]. Wherever you decide to get them from, you will not go wrong with Black Sex Links. Good luck in getting your flock.
