Black silkie ...

I was wondering if anyone can help me with any clues at to what sex my black silkie is. It is about 11 weeks old, still acts like a chick (trying to get under mommas wing when afraid! and he is bigger than her!) As you can see I kind of think it may be a roo... but... not sure at all. I can't take any pics, camera not working properly. It is almost as big as the hen who hatched him/ her, I can see a little bit of a comb starting - it looks more like a single comb than a walnut - do they start out like that and then fill in? It is bearded too. Even with the naked eye holding it in natural light it is hard to see details with all the black! Do I have to wait for a crow or an egg or is there some other way of telling its sex?
