Black silkies make white babies?

Someone was explaining this to me the other day but I got distracted by his massive emu. Whats the rule on this guys?

Depends on if the white silkie is dominant or recessive.

I was wondering the same. I think white only produce white, and black or splash are capable of producing black, white, or splash. I don't know if I am correct in this assumption or not... I thought I got that from something I read once. I also have no idea how lavender or buff come into the picture.

I think these are the percentages, but don't hold me to it 100%

Black x Splash produces 100% Blue offspring
Splash x Splash produces 100% Splash, but will dilute the color (like the one in the pic below)
Blue x Blue will give you 50% Blue, 25% Splash and 25% Black
Blue x Splash will give you 50% blue and 50% splash
Dominant White x Black 100% white
Recessive White x Black 100% black

I got out of the splash silkies, but I did keep one. She'll be with me until her maker is ready for her. She is just a special girl.
