Black Wyandotte??

Bought this pullet at three days old. Was told she was a black Wyandotte which I had never heard of. She’s a bit bigger than all the others I got that day so she may be older. 5-6 weeks old now. Black with black feet that are yellow underneath. Black beak with yellow tip. No signs of a single comb. Any idea what she is? Black Orpington maybe?

Breed is correct, Black Wyandotte. Very pretty girl.

Leg color is wrong for a black wyandotte. my guess is that it's a mix between a wyandotte and a black chicken like an australorp or a jersey Giant. I had a silver laced wyandotte x jersey giant mix that looked just like yours.

I'm unsure entirely as to the breed, but we have one that looks just like this, and it was sold to us as a Black Australorp, there are times I think black Orpington, but I read that it's hard to distinguish the two breeds until they're fully grown. But, for now, I would guess Black Australorp

I hadn't even noticed the leg color....good point. It seems most birds that are black in coloration have darker legs, but apparently Wyandottes are different.

Australorps have single combs, whereas said chook sports a rose comb.

If you got it from a hatchery or feed store then it's very likely a black Wyandotte with the wrong leg color. If it was from a backyard breeder then it could be a Wyandotte mix. Beautiful bird.

Thank you! It was from a feed store. She’s a bit larger than others her age. Any signs of being a possible rooster or just a larger bird?
